:: Something New for the Foot of the Bed ::

Tuesday’s Tip from the Pros

If you’re lucky enough to have a sprawling master bedroom, the foot of the bed can be a great place to add functionality and interest to your room. And you’d be suprised to see that even in smaller rooms you can still get away with a pair of x-benches, which will keep you from hopping around on one foot while straping on your new wedge sandals! Form and funciton – what more would you want? How about some drool worthy photos?? Well, you’re in luck!…

Rustic Table Bedroom

A rustic desk provides a perfect spot for highlighting a favorite book. {Tip: This look works well because the scale of the desk and bed are similar. They may have even raised the bed a bit to keep things balanced out.}

Elle Decor Bedroom

Be resourceful – grab two chairs from the dining room and voila! – a free and fabulous addition to your room.

Blue White Yellow Bedroom

Vintage stools get a new life with some glossy white paint and batik linen covers. {Tip: Use two smaller stools together to ensure a balanced look.}

Rustic Bedroom Desk

Another example of using a desk at the foot of the bed, but in a somewhat smaller room. It can be done!

Barclay Butera Bedroom Stool

No more wall space for a dresser? Try the foot of the bed. This nailhead piece really makes a statement and is a great place to showcase fresh cut flowers.

We’re getting a suntan just by looking at this bedroom photo. Where’s our pina colada?

 Try a settee at the foot of the bed. A great place for breakfast and a good book or to sit with an afternoon tea.

It might be hard to sit on this cabana stripe ottoman when there’s a chair with an ocean view just steps away, but doesn’t the bench make the room much more interesting? What unique ways have you decorated the foot of your bed?

  1. I would love to have a rustic trunk or table at the bed’s end – Hopefully our future home will allow for it (because there is just so much good stuff out there)!!
