Coastal entryway decorated with the stripes of the Amrican FlagCome this 4th of July, decorate your home with style! There’s no need to go to the party supply store to grab anything and everything red, white or blue and plastered with little American Flags, because this year you are going to accessorize your home with the perfect touch of independence.

We’re talking about decorating with red, white and blue accessories and flowers throughout the home. These little pops of color will act like fireworks on the Fourth of July! Plus you can use them again next year or even throughout the year instead of throwing everything out and buying everything over again next year. And don’t forget the pièce de résistance, that good ‘ol star spangled banner – the American Flag. This is one piece that can fly year-round and will always look good. Don’t be afraid to love your country and be patriotic!

Enjoy yourself this 4th of July! Stay cool, use plenty of sun screen and enjoy the fireworks! Happy 4th of July! Rustic 4th of July Home DecorCoastal outdoor area with red stripes and blue cushionsCoastal cottage with a cozy, vintage feel

Coastal beach house outdoor dining table

Everyone’s favorite season is rapidly approaching. The sun is shining, the beach is starting to beg you to come play and the birds are chirping away trying to convince you to go outside. As much as your body and mind might be ready for summer, is your home? If you’re not sure, then use these 3 tips to help your home in the direction of summer!

1. Dust off, clean up or replace the outdoor furniture.

If we plan on getting that beautiful, golden tan or hosting a BBQ (or two or three) this summer, we’re going to need the furniture to lend us a helping hand. Take a quick look at your outdoor furniture. How’s it looking? Do you need new cushions? Does it need to be cleaned? Or is it time to ditch it for some new furniture?

2. Bring out the marshmallows.

Get that fireplace ready for those gooey, delicious s’mores! It’s not summer unless you’re ending your nights around the fire and roasting your marshmallows for the classic summer time treat. No place to roast those marshmallows? No problem! It’s time you get that fire pit and set it up. These are easy to shop for and there’s no need to build one or lay brick!

3. Let it flow

It’s time to let the air flow through your home! Open those windows wide and let the summer breeze fill your home! This lets you keep your home cool and gives those indoor plants a little fresh air as well!

:: Dining On Pedestal Tables ::

What’s Trending Wednesday

Coastal kitchen with a dining nook and pedestal tablePedestal tables offer a lot more than meets the eye. They offer more space, both in actual table top space and seating options, and give everyone a seat at the table. That means everyone gets enough room and there isn’t an awkward person trying to lean in to be a part of the conversation.

A pedestal table is nice change of pace from traditional dining table options. They help out in those tight spots by creating extra space and give you a little wiggle room in the corners.

These tables, like most tables, come in two sizes: large and small. A large pedestal table is great way to entertain more than two to three people. They offer the space you need and give everyone the opportunity to comfortably interact with one another at the table. For those of you with small nook or kitchen space, you’d be more interested in a small pedestal table. They seat two to three comfortably and create a person and intimate experience while filling the small amount of space provided.

Take a look at these great pedestal tables below! See how they are used and how the designers placed them in the space!

:: 3 Quick Tips For Outdoor Dining ::

Tuesday Tips

Coastal outdoor dining spaceThe sun is out and it’s starting to heat up! Perfect weather to head to the backyard for a dinner and a sunset. The spring and summer seasons are great for outdoor dining. When the heat starts to linger into the nights it creates a cozy outdoor dining experience. We have 3 quick tips to help you take total advantage of the weather and get the most of the season!

1. Dinnerware

There’s no need for extra fancy dishes and utensils, but that doesn’t mean they can’t be cute! Heading outside for a little dinner can easily get messy and the last thing you want or need are broken plates or cups – leave the glass and porcelain inside. Find cute melamine plates and acrylic cups for the perfect outdoor dining experience!

2. Comfy Seats

Being comfortable makes every experience better. This is a fact. Outdoor dinners are one-fourth eating and three-fourths spending time with the people you love. Why not make sure everyone is comfortable while they enjoy the weather? Invest in some chairs that offer comfort. Take it to the next level in decor and comfort by snagging some outdoor cushions for ultimate coziness.

3. Enjoy The View

This tip is the most important! Enjoy being outside! Enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful weather! Enjoy the company and enjoy your backyard space!

:: 3 Quick Tips To Spring Your Patio Back To Life ::

Tuesday Tips

Kick back with the pup on this cozy coastal patioSpring is right around the corner and it’s been heating up here in Southern California! The last couple of days have been nice and hopefully it’s been the same for your area as well. Looks like a quick day of rain, but then we’re  back to the good weather!

Not sure about you, but we’re all ready to be outside in the sun. When the time comes, we want to maximize our patio with as much comfort and style as we can. That’s why we have 3 quick tips for your spring patio! Get your patio ready for the weather and sun with these tips!

1. Use Colors.

Don’t be afraid to use a little color outside! Sure the spring flowers show bring lots of color, but do the flowers match your interior’s color palette? Or do you want the outside to start a fresh, new palette for your patio space! There’s no need to shy away from colors! Let the hues jump out and shine like they’re meant to in spring!

2. Use Different Types of Materials.

The tip’s title pretty much says it all. Don’t limit yourself to only one type of material on your patio. There are a ton of natural materials that work great outdoors and even plenty of ‘indoor’ materials that work well outside in the weather. They just might need to be pulled in from time to time.

3. Use Plants & Flowers.

This one is a no brainer! Bring some lush, green plants onto the patio space and really feel surrounded by the outdoors. Like we mentioned above, the flowers are strangers to color so use them to brighten up your patio! Make them the standout decor in your patio space!
