Now that fall is in full swing, before we know it, winter will be here. Is your home ready for the cold season? More importantly, is your entryway ready? Getting your entryway ready for the wet seasons is necessary when your layers deep trudging into your home. Make it so when you get home on a wet day that you’re greeted by warm, accommodating entryway. Accommodating? Yes. It’s ready to fulfill your wishes of getting out of those wet shoes or rain boots fast. We’ve got 3 very easy and quick tips to help make your wet season easier. They will help, check them out!
1. Grab A Seat.
Get yourself a bench or something to sit on you can get out of those wet shoes fast! You can also catch your breath and then continue stripping off all the layers.
2. Toss The Coat.
Get a couple coat hooks for the wall or a coat rack. You want that coat off your body ASAP to get the cold weather off of you so you can start warming up in the house.
3. Lay Down A Rug.
You’re gonna bring a little Mother Nature in when you get home, so make sure you have your indoor/outdoor rug ready and in place to help against the mess.
These 3 simple tips will go a long way during the upcoming seasons. I know they are easy and almost common sense, right? Well, you’d be surprised how easy it is to overlook these simple ideas. Don’t forget and be ready for the cold weather!
It’s always nice to come home after a long day and have a quick, easy place to set your stuff down. Let these tips help make your life and entryway better!
Get yourself a coat rack, this way you can toss your coat or scarf up onto it and to free yourself up a little bit. Put a side table or small bench in the entryway so you can set your purse, keys or what’s ever is in your hands down. The bench, or maybe a chair, will give you a place to take your shoes off or even unload any extras your lugging in. More importantly, you have a place for the kids to take off and store their shoes or other various things. This will hopefully cut back on the dirt and mess throughout the house that the kids somehow always manage to bring in.
Invest in a doormat or a tough indoor/outdoor rug in the entry. This will help with preventing messes which will save you in the long run. Another way to prevent clutter and mess is with an umbrella rack. During the wet season you won’t be tracking mud or water throughout your home. Plus you’ll have a place for your umbrella and you won’t have to go searching for it every time you’re running out the door.
Let your entryway help you! Putting a little time into your entry will leave you thanking yourself over and over. It will help organize your home and make your life easier. There’s no need for clutter by the front door, but most importantly there’s no need for that extra stress.
When summer is in full swing we have one destination in mind, the beach! The beach is the ultimate summer spot, so why not make your entry way beach ready? You can do this with a couple key accessories and pieces! You need a minimum of three essential pieces in the entry way. You can use more, but we all know less is more so keep it simple!
The first thing you need is a place to sit. This can be a chair, a small bench or even a stool. You just need something where you can kick off those sandals and dust off the sand covered toes. No more tracking sand throughout the house. If your seat is something light and easy to move you can easily reach in a grab it and clean outside the front door.
The second thing you will need is a place to set your stuff down. A side table or even a wide ottoman can get the job done. Create a place you can easy unload after a beach day. This way you can drop it and forget it for the time being. Another option is to use a wicker style basket so you can place your beach towels or blankets in it so it can easily be transported to the laundry room.
The third and final piece to the beach ready entryway is a place to hang stuff. We’re talking an entry way shelf, a coast rack or at the very least a couple mounted hooks. This is a great place to hang the towels, your sun hat or your beach tote. Basically it’s another place to quickly unload form the beach.
Those are the three essential pieces that make the perfect summer entryway! It’s all about creating a space that helps you quickly and easily unload after a glorious day at the beach. Hopefully this helps you this summer and lets you enjoy those beach days more!

You’re invited over to a beautiful home and what’s the first thing you see? The Entryway. What’s more inviting than a splash of fun and bright colors?

There are other ways, including painting your door, to bring some color and life back to your entryway. Like fun bright accessories or lively flowers showing off their petals. Even the pots you put your new flowers in can bring a punch of color! With so many fun possibilities between paint, flowers and accessories there’s no reason you can bring out the best in your entryway.
Right when you swing open the front door to your home the first thing you see is your entryway. You see your side console that gives you a quick place to unload and compose yourself before moving forward through to the rest of your home. You see the art and accessories you used decorate the console. You see your home.
Your entryway sets the expectations and tone for the rest of the home. It’s the first thing anyone and everyone will see when they enter your home. Every more reason to decorate to impress. Putting a little time into your entry will leave you thanking yourself over and over.
One tip before we’re done here, create a simple and minimal entryway. There are two very good reasons as to why. First, it looks good. Pretty straight forward and easy to do. Second, the actual reason, if there is a small amount of space it deters you and the family from making it the “drop zone”. You know, the area that gathers everyone’s stuff, is never clean and always a mess. Let’s skip all that by not allowing the space to be used like that.
Last, but not least, here’s a little coastal entry home decor inspiration. Take a look at these homes and what these owners are greeted with when they come home.

The front door is one of the first things seen when you look at a home. It can add curb appeal and style to the house. A red front door, however, offers more than just curb appeal and style. Not only does the hue immediately grab the eye and draw you into the home, but it could signify more than just a style choice.
During American Colonial and Civil War times the red door was a symbol of safety. It meant that it was a safe place to stay and rest during travel and times of war.
In Feng Shui, a red front door means ‘welcome’ and red is the color of prosperity and abundance. Use the color of your front door to bring positive energy to yourself and your guests.
Another meaning behind a red painted front door is the Scottish tradition of a paid off mortgage. It’s a fun, semi-subtle way of saying you officially own your home and you’re debt free.
Colors sometimes carry meanings and so do objects. It’s a fun way to say something without actually saying it. If you’ve got free time you should look up more color and object meanings that have to with the home
