:: 3 Quick Tips For Backyard Cooking ::

Standard

Nautical backyard with fresh air kitchen spaceIt’s time to clean up the grill and get it ready for BBQ season! It’s the perfect weather to be outside grilling and spending time in the backyard. Make sure you’re backyard is ready for you and the summer season ahead. If it’s not we’ve got 3 quick tips to help you get your backyard space ready. 1. Get Grillin’ First things first, make sure the grill is ready to go. Over the winter the grill wasn’t getting too much use, or any at all, so it’s going to need a quick clean. Dust off the cobwebs, clean off the dirt and fill up the propane tank. Now when that perfect warm evening comes along you can hit the grill and enjoy a nice dinner in the backyard. 2. Cover Up It gets a little hot out when the sun is coming down on you so make sure you’ve got some shade to retreat to. We’re talking about a big umbrella, an awning or a deck covering. However you get your shade, you’re going to be thankful you’re standing in it enjoying a cold, crisp lemonade. 3. Table Space One thing you can never have enough of in the backyard is table space. It’s especially useful when it comes to cooking. Get yourself a table that can handle the load and provide enough space not only for cooking and food, but for guests as well. :: Cover Up That Table! ::

Bright striped table cover in a tropical style backyardThis hot weather is great for two things: getting started on your base tan and outdoor dining. Since you don’t see any bronzed bodies in this post, it’s safe to say that we’re focusing on the latter of the two. The hot heat carries throughout the day and doesn’t really start to cool down until night time which creates the perfect temperatures for a family dinner in the backyard. Cue the tablecloths and table runners! They are the perfect addition to any backyard dining or mid day picnic. They bring fun colors or patterns as well as a nice cover up for that weathered table that’s been fighting the elements. Check out some these tablecloths and table runners below to see what you can do in your backyard this outdoor season!

One thing that we’re blessed with is the weather. And lately, the weather has been amazing. It doesn’t take much convincing from the clear blue skies and shining sun to get us to go outside. That’s why this weekend we plan on spending our time outdoors in our backyards or lounging around the patio. So it should come to no shock that this week’s weekend pins has to be all about outdoor spaces.

What’s Trending Wednesday

01-one-glorious-garden-roses-lgn-51429276We stumbled upon this beautiful garden and absolutely adore what Joyce Nereaux Moore and her husband, Gerald Moore, have done with their outdoor space! It’s a truly inspiring garden and just plain gorgeous. Everything planted is well thought out and placed perfectly. They roll up to their home and are greeted by stunning climbing roses that have engulfed the front of their house. And the two have even set a cozy, quiet dining area that will get plenty of use during the warmer spring and summer days and nights.

As you can tell we are a huge fan of this garden and backyard space. We’re just swooning and ready to move right in! What do you guys think? Would you walk in a get comfy or would you change a few things? Let us know!

If you haven’t noticed by now, being outside is a must for us during the summer. I know we’ve said it before, but we seriously look for any excuse to get outside and enjoy our beautiful, Southern California weather. But what else can we do while we’re outside besides go to the beach? We can enjoy the garden! We love stepping out to the backyard to see all the beautiful flowers and plants. It’s nice to slow down, unplug from the modern world and get lost in nature. It takes a little work and effort, but it’s so rewarding when the flowers bloom and the garden grows. Plus you get the added bonus of the lovely natural scents when you’re out in the backyard. Check out some of these wonderful garden examples we found and helped us forget we aren’t out there enjoying them.

Tuesday’s Tips

Take advantage of that outdoor space that’s been given to you! Whether it’s in the front or back of your home you can maximize your home and space with proper design. Do you have a deck, patio, porch, or free space in the backyard? Whatever it may be it’s time to use it. First things first you need some type of furniture. This creates a place for everyone to gather around. Next is a table of some sort. This way if you want to bring food or drinks out you can. Plus now you have something to decorate and a place for decor. Now it’s time for the rug. A nice indoor/outdoor or just outdoor rug will really define the space. It will turn your random furniture sitting outside into a real outdoor space waiting to be used. Bring on the accessories! Time to really make your outdoor space look like another room in the house. The best and obvious choice for outdoor decor – candles. They are a must have for any outdoor space. The rest is up to you. Want to bring out some fun glass jugs or coasters? Do it! Hopefully it will cool down around here and we can actually go outside and enjoy it for a change. Is it fall yet?
