It’s always nice to come home after a long day and have a quick, easy place to set your stuff down. Let these tips help make your life and entryway better!
Get yourself a coat rack, this way you can toss your coat or scarf up onto it and to free yourself up a little bit. Put a side table or small bench in the entryway so you can set your purse, keys or what’s ever is in your hands down. The bench, or maybe a chair, will give you a place to take your shoes off or even unload any extras your lugging in. More importantly, you have a place for the kids to take off and store their shoes or other various things. This will hopefully cut back on the dirt and mess throughout the house that the kids somehow always manage to bring in.
Invest in a doormat or a tough indoor/outdoor rug in the entry. This will help with preventing messes which will save you in the long run. Another way to prevent clutter and mess is with an umbrella rack. During the wet season you won’t be tracking mud or water throughout your home. Plus you’ll have a place for your umbrella and you won’t have to go searching for it every time you’re running out the door.
Let your entryway help you! Putting a little time into your entry will leave you thanking yourself over and over. It will help organize your home and make your life easier. There’s no need for clutter by the front door, but most importantly there’s no need for that extra stress.

We think it’s time you open up the doors and windows to create a laid back, open feeling in your home. Spring starts to bring us weather that we want to joy outside, so why not create a space that brings in the fresh air and opens up the home to the world to do that?
Creating this feeling isn’t just for the blessed that have beach front property and the luxury of an open floor plans paired with high ceilings. We aren’t going to lie to you guys, that definitely helps – like it really helps. But what about those who aren’t that fortunate? How do you create this in your home? There a couple ways to achieve this feeling in a not so open floor plan home. It’s actually a lot more achievable than you’d think!
First, let as much light in as possible by opening the windows. This will help get fresh air in the space and create a brighter space. It seems so easy and cliche, but really it helps.
Second, keep your decor simple – think essentials only. This cuts the clutter and makes more space which creates room and empty space to help open up the home. Less equals more! Simple!
Third, decorate with lighter colors. This is a must. Darker colors will make a space feel smaller. This isn’t always the case, but for this style it is (if you must use dark colors think of colors in weights and go heavy to light). Neutral colors and lighter colors are your friends and will help make the space feel open and fresh.
As always, we won’t leave you guys empty handed without any visuals. These beautiful spaces are what we’re talking about. Check out the work of these designers and use them as inspiration to create the home you want!
Spring is right around the corner and it’s been heating up here in Southern California! The last couple of days have been nice and hopefully it’s been the same for your area as well. Looks like a quick day of rain, but then we’re back to the good weather!
Not sure about you, but we’re all ready to be outside in the sun. When the time comes, we want to maximize our patio with as much comfort and style as we can. That’s why we have 3 quick tips for your spring patio! Get your patio ready for the weather and sun with these tips!
1. Use Colors.
Don’t be afraid to use a little color outside! Sure the spring flowers show bring lots of color, but do the flowers match your interior’s color palette? Or do you want the outside to start a fresh, new palette for your patio space! There’s no need to shy away from colors! Let the hues jump out and shine like they’re meant to in spring!
2. Use Different Types of Materials.
The tip’s title pretty much says it all. Don’t limit yourself to only one type of material on your patio. There are a ton of natural materials that work great outdoors and even plenty of ‘indoor’ materials that work well outside in the weather. They just might need to be pulled in from time to time.
3. Use Plants & Flowers.
This one is a no brainer! Bring some lush, green plants onto the patio space and really feel surrounded by the outdoors. Like we mentioned above, the flowers are strangers to color so use them to brighten up your patio! Make them the standout decor in your patio space!
