Beach cottage with flowers everywhereThe weather has started to heat up the last couple of days here in Southern California, so we’ve been outside enjoying it! That includes a large amount of time spent at the beach and laying out in the backyard enjoying the garden. Speaking of gardens, what’s your garden look like? Eagerly blooming this spring? Or nonexistent? It’s okay if it’s the latter of the two.

Now is the time to plant that garden and show the world you can grow beautiful flowers! Believe in your green thumb! It will give you an extra excuse to get outside and will get that base started on that summer time glow. Plus it all pays off when you get to relax outside and, quite literally, smell the roses.

It’s time to head down to your local nursery or hardware store and get that garden going! The more flowers the better! Start having a little fun in the sun! Don’t forget the sunscreen!

But what else can we do while we’re outside besides go to the beach? We can enjoy the garden! We love stepping out to the backyard to see all the beautiful flowers and plants. It’s nice to slow down, unplug from the modern world and get lost in nature. It takes a little work and effort, but it’s so rewarding when the flowers bloom and the garden grows. Plus you get the added bonus of the lovely natural scents when you’re out in the backyard. Check out some of these wonderful garden examples we found and helped us forget we aren’t out there enjoying them.

It’s so beautiful outside today we had no choice but to post about how to take advantage of this weather. It feels like summer’s already come here in Southern California. We apologize for all our friends and family that are covered in snow, you really should be out here! For those of you that are here, you better be outside reading this on your laptop! Unless you’re here for a few tips on how to enjoy the great outdoors. Let’s get this started.

1. Get outdoor furniture.

It can be a full outdoor furniture set or just a pair of chairs. It all depends how many people will be out there enjoying the day with you. The more the merrier in our opinion!

2. Get an outdoor rug.

3. Get your garden on.

It’s a great way to work on your tan, be active and possibly grow something edible. If you have a green thumb and space, why not start up a fun garden? If your gardening skill or space is limited you can always opt for a smaller, easier garden set up, like Michelle’s pictured above.
