Tuesday Tips

Coastal kitchen decorated for the holidays with ribbonsThis holiday season focus on the important things: friends, family and coziness. There’s nothing better than curling up with a warm blanket and getting extra cozy, especially during the holidays. We aren’t shy about our feelings when it comes to being cozy, we love it! But why not bring that idea to your home decor? It should be easy when it’s cold and Christmas time is here. It’s an easy process of elimination and addition to get your home ready for maximum holiday cheer and cozy comfort. All you have to do is ask yourself two very simple questions.

First question: does it keep me warm? If the answer is yes, then we keep it, add it, buy it, love it and get warm with it. If the answer is no, we get rid of it. Simple as that. We’ll see it again when warmer days come back.

Second question: is it only socially acceptable to display/decorate with this during December without looking like a crazy person? If the answer is yes, then again we keep it, add it, buy it, love it and get warm with it! If the answer is no, we do it anyway! Okay, maybe not, but I’m sure most of us would like to because Christmas time is best.

That’s all it takes. It’s that simple. Little effort, maximum result! Get your home more cozy and more Christmas-y with those two simple questions. Stay warm and don’t forget to have fun!

Creative way to show off art. Create a shelf and place the frame on it.We think that no wall should be left behind! No wall shall go bare while there is art out in the world to hang on it! That’s why you should go big with your art. Cover as much of that wall as you can. There are many ways to do this: get one large piece to cover the wall, create a gallery wall, or get creative with how you display it (like the picture shown above). The bottom line is you get to cover your walls and you get to show off some great art. It’s truly a win-win, especially for those home owners that are fortunate enough to have large spaces. Use large art or gallery walls to fill the space. Using art to cover the walls can give the room a fuller, richer feel when you enter it. Take a look at what these designers have done with these spaces and how they’ve used art to not only cover the walls, but pull the room together.

Coastal kitchen with white marble top counters, white cabinets and elegant hardwareHow’s your hardware? Is it time for an upgrade? Do you have any hardware on your cabinets?

One of the easiest and fastest ways to give your kitchen a quick design boost is to upgrade your kitchen’s hardware. Not to mention it’s one of the more inexpensive ways to upgrade your coastal kitchen as well. Kitchen hardware can take your cabinets from bland to elegant in a matter of minutes. Replace your old, boring hardware with something new and see the immediate difference. If your cabinets are completely without hardware then it’s definitely time you invest. You’ll thank yourself a millions times over for the investment.

The beauty of hardware is it comes in all shapes, sizes and colors. There’s something for every kitchen out there. Plus there’s plenty of pulls and knobs that will not only feel perfect in your hands, but will look amazing in your kitchen. Get out there and start looking for your kitchen’s next upgrade! There’s no excuse to miss out on the instant value this adds to the look and feel of your coastal kitchen!
