We’re still making color boards for you guys and showing you how you can create a fun, custom palette with your color board. Last week we showed you a color board based on a palette that has already been used to design a room. Did you miss last week’s color board? It’s okay! Take a quick look here!

In last week’s post we talked about a few ways to get started with your color board. This week we’re showing you how to grab an image you love and pull colors from it. It’s simple! Go to google images, flickr, pinterest or even flip open a magazine and start searching!

We found this image on flickr and instantly fell in love. It’s so bright, colorful and most of all coastal! We had to use it for this post! We were instantly attracted to colors of the boat because the hues work so well together making it easy to use and incorporate into a palette. Also the beach sand and the ocean provide great hues that match the boat’s colors perfectly. This color board creates a palette that allows a varying range of colors to work with in any space. It’s really that easy to grab an image and create a color board from it!

Now that you know how easy it is, get out there and create those color boards! Remember, don’t forget to have fun with your colors! Experimenting and mixing some unexpected colors can lead to something you’ll love!
