Tuesday Tips

Bright coastal bedroom with lots of light and colorsSpring is a time for colors! One color that is fun, bright and playful to design with is pink. It’s a great color that can be used in any coastal home. It’s coastal by it’s very nature, literally. Think of all those glorious sunsets that have those beautiful oranges, yellows, pinks and purples. The pink hues in the sunset are the ones that stand out the most. Use pink hues to capture that same feeling in your home!

Pink hues can go along way in little amounts. They can be used for fun pops of color and they can be used to lighten a space with a coat of paint on the walls. The fun part is deciding how you want to use pink in your decor.

Get inspired by these designers and their use of pink. Figure out fun and exciting ways that you can bring the beautiful hue into your home!Pops of pink throughout a coastal home Pink sofa in an eclectic coastal space Pink decor in a modern coastal living room Hints of pink in a coastal vignette

Tuesday Tips

Coastal kitchen with large wicker pendant lights and dark cabinets with white wallsToday we have 3 quicks tips to help in the kitchen! We spend a lot of time in our kitchens so why not love them? Here are 3 ways to help you enjoy your coastal home kitchen!

1. Pop Those Colors

The kitchen gives you a place to really go bold with pops of color. With limited counter space you have to make your accessories count. Don’t forget that you can also bring in different colored lighting pieces as well!

2. Use Natural Textures

With most kitchens having wood cabinets it easy to forget that you can play and design off those textures. There’s no need to just slap a coat of paint on the cabinets and call it a day. If that’s how you planned it, there’s no problem with that, but don’t forget that you can expand on the natural wood grains and textures to bring your kitchen to the next level.

3. Play With Patterns

Kitchens are a great place to have fun with patterns. They can be bright and pop out or they can compliment the color palette. The choices are endless and so are the pattern placements. Explore pattern ideas with kitchen rugs, the back splash and maybe even the tile floor. The pattern possibilities are endless!

:: Bring In That Spring Green ::

Tuesday Tips

Beautiful lust tree of green in a rustic beach style entrywayWith spring in full swing it’s time to bring some fresh greens inside! And by greens, we mean green plants!

Flowers always take the spotlight in the spring time and for good reason, but another way to decorate your home with some fresh spring green is to use plants. We’re talking leafy greens that pop out in the home! Plants can bring in a fresh breath of air into a home during spring. They’ll thrive in the home and add a bit of contrast to your home decor.

Don’t have that magical green thumb? Then good news for you! Most plants, and flowers, come in both real and fake versions. No shame in using a few fake plants. We understand that not everyone has the time or memory to keep up with them! Another route to explore is the use of succulents. These require little amounts of water so they’re easy to keep up!

Check out how these plants were used in these coastal homes. They have the right idea for spring and hopefully you will too!
